Our story
It started with a favor
Like a lot of shops, this one began as a hobby that got out of hand. A few builds for friends turned into builds for their friends, then into weekend repairs at a kitchen table covered in anti-static bags, then into a waiting list long enough that something had to change.
The turning point wasn't a business plan — it was frustration. Too many people were being handed a bill they didn't understand, for a repair they didn't need, on a machine that had been "fixed" by swapping parts until the symptom went away. We thought that people in the valley deserved somewhere they could bring a computer and get the truth about it, even when the truth was this isn't worth fixing.
So Techni-Build opened its doors in West Springfield with two rules that haven't changed since: you see the parts list, and you approve the price before we start. Everything else — the burn-in testing, the cable management, the phone calls answered by the person who actually did the work — grew out of those two.
